Recently Ron and I joined friends for a hike in the New Mexico Pecos Wilderness area to enjoy fall colors. As we walked in the healing, enlivening experience of Nature, I was once more reminded of the necessity to release the old to make way for the new. In wilderness you do not see immaculate landscapes with healthy trees, devoid of any dying or decaying debris. In the reality field of healthy Nature, we see trees, shrubs and wild plants in various stages of growth…new seedlings, young saplings, tall, confident mature plants, old plants with dying branches and fallen plants and trees releasing decaying matter into humus and soil necessary to nurture the new, the emerging, the next stage. What can emerge in our own life if we follow the Law of Nature, allowing the old to fall away so we can nurture what is next in our life?
In July we released ourselves from a four bedroom house, large yard with fruit trees, organic garden and herb gardens. Much as we enjoyed them, we were ready to refocus onto our personal and spiritual endeavors.
Subsequently, Ron received a new job opportunity that exactly fills his interests and skills. More clients have contacted me for spiritual mentoring, intuitive readings, and meditation. We have more time for morning yoga, longer and deeper meditations, walks and connecting with friends. We let go obligations of caring for physical space, freeing energy for extending service and personal growth. While our “shift” is not necessarily the right one for others or for us at another time in our life, (at one time our “new” was moving into a larger home with room to garden!), chances are you, too, have a sneaking suspicion that a shift is waiting for you – you only need decide and begin the transitional steps. Perhaps you first must complete the obligations you set in motion earlier before you are free. Yet move you must. We are in a time of existence when we can no longer remain stuck without becoming ill, weak, and disoriented. In that condition, we are no good to ourselves or to others. When we feel contracted and victimized, we are not embracing our life mission; we are living “what is expected of us” instead of “what we came here to do”.
I encourage you to step forth into your path with confidence, knowing the “Source of All” empowers you far beyond what you imagine.
